I'm all about open source, but this program just doesn't cut it for me. The concept of a cross platform, one-size-fits-all app sounds good, but I think it's asking too much. The program uses Python to aggregate the RSS feeds but it doesn't work seamlessly. If the user closes the window, Python crashes and iPodder freezes requiring a force quit. The program is slow and gets bogged down if you try to download to many files at once. Also, you can't download just one of the older files in a subscription without deselecting all of the rest of the files separately from all of your subscriptions before you hit the "one-click" download button. If price is your main deciding factor, go with this one, but I would reccommend one of the Shareware apps available which have greater funcionality.
solid client

I have tried several other podcast clients and this one seems to be the best of them and unlike many of its competitors iPodder is free! The only criticism, albeit a minor one, I would have is that it is a large program and I get the impression it is something of a memory hog - though this is only an impression - and it takes an age to start. It is, however, reliable and solid.
awesome

well didnt tried it that long .. though i have to say i like it very much and it did the thing i wanted instantly (displaying the feeds that were avail in a rss url - giving me access to full directorys - acting nicely) ..
about the size of 17megs download its !not! the python framework that takes up this size .. it's the wx widgets (windows) part that is not (yet) integrated in the os x distribution (its a (fast) crossplatform gui that works nice together with python similar to swt or swing)

I get a crash log with each boot. But worst of all is that I cannot trash the app. Finder says that "Python" is running. I have used Activity Monitor to try to kill Python but it isn't running. Also rebooted. May just run from a CD and get rid of the bugger. I've used the previous version but would like a few more features. Looks like the v2 beta is not on their site so perhaps versiontracker just picking up on it.
IpodderX directory parsing errors - Version: 2.0b1.1, 1/23/2005 09:05PM PST

still. And when you subscribe to a fee in the direcory, it takes you too your subscribed feeds. Maybe it should just stay in the directory window, and check mark the feed.
Getting there wow!

Looking real good as a single application for podcast. Getting parsing errors in the directory, but obviously this app. is almost there. The ability to micromanage downloads feeds and cleanup is brilliant. Excellent beta.

I couldn't get it to run either, but I figured that out. I upgraded to the latest version of Python (2.3.4 - http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/9108). Now it seems to be working fairly well.
Klunky, but it works

May not be as easy on the eyes as the similarly titled iPodderX, but unlike iPodderX, this one actually works. At least that has been my experience. Needs preferences, of course, and I'd like it to automatically *sync* my iPod if it is connected, so that I don't have to manually check to see if there are new podcasts and then manually sync. That way it would really automatically load my iPod.
