This is correct. 8.02 came out last night. 8.01 came out months ago. The update is great and works well on my MBP and iMac G5.

Someone at Apple must have messed up as this has been out for a while as already noted. Maybe 8.0.2 was slated for release...and they didn't update versioning on VT

This update in version tracker is a mistake. Logic 8.0.1 came out months ago. Nice going version tracker. This update made Logic studio work better on my MBP latest OSX.

Strange !! I've been using Logic Pro 8.0.1 for months now. Surely this is not a new update.
Or am I missing something here ??

Apple Logic Pro ReviewWorks great ! - Version: 7.2.3, 10/3/2006 05:50PM PST

Logic Pro 7.2.3 works great on my G5 Quad - 4G. Ram and running OSX 10.4.8.
So far I'm very happy with it - no problems at all, even with a lot of plugins and audio+midi tracks. Seems to add support for the Quad. A great tool for musicians and arrangers. There's still room for improvements but I think Apple is heading at the right direction.

Apple Logic Pro CommentaryPPC Quad support finally - Version: 7.2.3, 9/28/2006 11:42PM PST

Just to clarify:
7.2.3 DOES fix the G5 Quad problem.

Apple Logic Pro ReviewQuad support STILL not fixed for G5's. - Version: 7.2.2, 8/21/2006 10:06AM PST

noisefloor
While 7.2.2 adds support for four processors on the Xeon Mac Pro, they still haven't added the same support for G5 quads. This version doesn't seem to have any improvements for PPC users, or even other intel users.

Apple Logic Pro CommentaryI wonder ? - Version: 7.2.2, 8/19/2006 06:10AM PST

Installed fine on Quad G5. It's funny that Apple said that this update will make use of all Quad proccessors in Mac Pros, but did not mention anything about PPC Macs, including the Quad. What are they implying ?

Apple Logic Pro Commentarystill not optimized for PowerMac G5 Quad - Version: 7.2.1, 5/7/2006 03:50AM PST

zoidberg
as it is being discussed on some audio-specialized sites/forums, logic pro could NOT use the full horsepower of the quad machines, unless you are setting up a local logic node. version 7.2.1 did NOT fix this peculiar restriction.
