Product Description:

Phones:
      Display signal and battery meters in the dock or menu bar including roam and charge status and the current network name.
      Control applications based on your phone's range such as pausing/unpausing iTunes and DVD Player, starting/stopping the screen saver and setting your iChat away message.
      Change phone settings like silent mode and call forwarding from the menu bar*.

Calls:
      Customizable call alerts including full-screen, menu bar, speach synthesis, MP3 ring tones, and many more.
      Retrieves caller ID using the phone* or AddressBook (including photo, if available).
      Filter incoming calls based on AddressBook groups.
      Log incoming and outgoing calls including call duration and notes.
      Export calls to the AddressBook or to iCal.
      Control active calls using hold, call waiting, on-screen volume control and keypad.

SMS:
      Send/Receive SMS messages easily using SMS Chat.
      Archive SMS to disk using Mail-style folders.
      Pop-up incoming SMS on-screen.
      Export SMS to the AddressBook or to iCal.

have been using BPE since earliest days, and with a macbook Pro n Nokia N 95 & 73 & 6310, this is just cellphone heaven, what a lovely couple!
great interaction, dashboard in menu, notification, plus an email center just like apple's Mail.
Use yr macbook to send sms, use yr macbook to read them ! no fiddling with mini buttons etc.
almost prefer to use SMS over email now ! hehe
great developer, attentive and good follow up of the suggestions we made over the years
