Couldn't run the current version. Always get Applescript error. Also, why is the version number unchanged from the prior version of 6 months ago? I went back to the old version and it still works.

PrefCheck ReviewUseful but worse than competition - Version: 2.3.2, 2/4/2005 11:44AM PST

This appears to do the exact same thing as "Preferential Treatment", but the other program has a better designed, less confusing interface.

The main problem here is a confusing non-standard interface. Apparently when I check a checkbox it runs the test. These should just be changing options, not actually running the thing! In the meantime, had I not wanted to change any options, I might not have been able to find out how to actually run the test!

Still, competition is good -- keep working at it.

3 people using OS X 10.2.8 have experienced a script error while using PrefCheck v2.x The error occurs when PrefCheck tries to open the editor to display the results of the test. If you experience this problem please e-mail me and I will e-mail you another version of PrefCheck I have written specifically for users that are experiencing this problem until I can figure out what is causing it. This version of PrefCheck has all the features of the current version, but displays the results in a Terminal window instead of an editor. Also, v2.2 coming out soon!
