Solarian II ReviewEasily Worth $10 - Version: 1.1, 9/9/2007 07:23PM PST

Ben Haller finally got $10 from me. He deserved it!

I haven't been able to make a score above 900,000 since its reissue but I'm working on it. I first played it, when my 17 year old son was just a baby, I thought beating it was just a cruel hoax. But I found the fireworks at the end. This is a great game. Shoot 'em and dodge. Plenty of decisions to make along the way. It is frustrating when you get zapped even though you KNOW you had the sheild on. Maybe you can't be in motion at the critical moment. I don't blame iClock. (Don't have it to my knowledge so I don't disable it.) I'd like to hear from other players with their strategies before we meet to play for a dollar a point.

Solarian II Usage TipKeyboard problems: Solution - Version: 1.1, 12/30/2004 11:13AM PST

Ben_Haller_985
(Developer) A very helpful user, Alan Wolfe, has just tracked down the keyboard problem some people have seen in Solarian II. It is an incompatibility with iClock; iClock is eating keystrokes that should go to Solarian, and that messes up the game. Just quit iClock before starting to play. It is possible that some other "background" software might cause similar problems with Solarian; if anybody finds any other examples, please let us know at Stick Software. Thanks!

Solarian II Reviewdoesn't respond to keystrokes - Version: 1.1, 11/13/2004 01:55AM PST

I remember this game fondly from my IIsi days. It drove me mad then and it drives me mad now. But this time, it's because the keys are unresponsive. I keep on getting killed by those bloody pentagons because my shields don't come on in time when I press the spacebar. And it's not because I'm too slow, even if I press the spacebar as soon as I see the pentagon start dropping down, the shields still don't go on. In fact, they *never* activate. There is definitely something wrong with the key response in this game. (TiBook 1Mhz, 10.3.6)

Wow, I was just thinking about this game the other day and how I wish there were an OS X version. I was thinking about installing classic on one of my machines simply so I could play it. Now I'm thinking I'll be playing this game all weekend long without any sleep.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
