LiveStage Pro CommentaryWaiting for the Demo - Version: 2006-06-06, 4/17/2007 01:34AM PST

I'm glad to hear it's not just me (in a way.) I want to try the demo out because I'm seriously shopping for a solution for authoring QuickTime movies that leverage all the special features (chapters, subtitles, etc.), but Totally Hip's registration requires so much effort on the part of the user, you forget why you were trying out the software before they actually get you the demo license (which I still haven't.) I can't believe how backwards their anti-piracy measures are; Sony must be taking notes. All they do is drive away potential customers and force them to start looking for the competition.

This is what happens when software makers smoke "Too much" weed. Lots of great ideas but full of holes. I'm sure when they mellow out a little they will put the shine on.

I just wanted to try out the demo of LSP (4.6) from TH software. Guess what, the demo crashes mid-launch time. How on earth can you offer a demo that won't launch? Oh and my mails remain unanswered. A pity, I remember this app from my OS9 days...pretty shitty GUI but still a powerful app.

LiveStage Pro ReviewPretty good product...but the worst company making OSX apps today - Version: 4.6.5, 1/15/2006 04:50PM PST

For the most part, the product is actually pretty good. It has the potential to be great. Very sophisticated features for advanced users. Being able to export a QT movie with a 0.1 framerate is awesome (for slideshows synced to audio). That said, Totally Hip sucks...big time!! They fix existing bugs and introduce a couple of new features and slug you for a couple of hundred bucks for an upgrade. How about fixing the bugs for free guys??? Particularly is someone's paid $500.00 for the app. It's a joke. There's no customer service to speak of either. When I think of the other apps I use from companies like Rogue Amoeba, where I pay $20-$40 bucks and receive upgrades for free and GREAT customer service, Totally Hip, well, Totally Sucks. I really regret buying this app.

LiveStage Pro Reviewbest interactive QuickTime software available - Version: 4.6.5, 1/12/2006 11:04PM PST

LiveStage Pro is the best interactive QuickTime software available on the market. I was able to use it to create unique projects for my clients. Totally Hip has provided me amazing support - try to get this kind of support from Macromedia, no way... LiveStage Pro is a Pro app, and it is definitely not for newbies or people who have no clues about scripting, but with a bit of time and skills, you can really do great projects.

LiveStage Pro ReviewI have to agree - Version: 4.5, 3/6/2005 08:03AM PST

I bought livestage pro, well the company I work for bought it. I have been using it for different projects for about 1 year. Went through 4.0 to 4.5. I have to agree with Mojolive and everyone else who has posted here. this is my first post on version tracker, and I hate to start things off negitive, but the support is really bad, and when you pay for the 2 hour support time, they are such **** that is makes you never want to call. Unhelpful I can only say that we will have to be stuck with this app until someone makes something better. I have to also agree with the person who said there way for authorizationleaves a lot to be desired! My biggest issue is that it crashes always half way through a project. Really need a lot of work. To bad I am forced to use it. I would say unless they learn how to handle there clinets in a respectful and helpful way, Don't give it a 2nd thought! Well what a great first posting. Too bad I wish I could have said nice things about this app, Oh well I hope my review will help someone else from wasting there money with this! And the price. 500 dollars is really $$$$$$
Hope this helps someone and maybe give the dev. a change to change the way they think about client support!

LiveStage Pro Reviewthis software is crap - Version: 4.5, 1/31/2005 11:34PM PST

robert_v_buck_dotmac
The software is buggy, crashes a lot, and their support is non-existant. I bought it, but ended up ditching it because it was so bad... a total waste of money.

You will seriously regret ever getting involved with "totally hip", which should rename themselves "a total rip".
