Product Description:

Deep Freeze Mac instantly protects and preserves baseline computer configurations. No matter what changes a user makes to a workstation, simply restart to eradicate all changes and reset the computer to its original state - right down to the last byte. Expensive computer assets are kept running at 100% capacity and technical support time is reduced or eliminated completely. The result is consistent trouble-free computing and a dramatic increase in computer uptime.

While Deep Freeze provides bulletproof protection, its non-restrictive approach also improves user productivity and satisfaction. By placing no restrictions on a user's ability to access all system resources, users avoid the frustration of downtime due to software conflicts, operating system corruption, misconfiguration, and many other problems. Users are always assured of computers that are consistently operable and available.

This edition of Deep Freeze Mac can be deployed and controlled with Apple Remote Desktop (ARD).

I can only see really small installations using this. RADMind can be set up and scheduled to do the same things and if you are using Networked accounts you can create login and logout hooks that do the same thing.
Lazy MS Admins are the only ones using this.

Deep Freeze Mac ARD CommentaryWhat is the point? - Version: 2.03.070.0077, 5/2/2006 10:04AM PST

Other than for computers on display in stores or perhaps for publically available computer terminals I do not see the point.

Why would I install this on a home computer if every time I reboot then any installations or changes I made would be wiped out?

Unless I am missing something (I did watch the video on their web-site) I just do not see the value for this on a home computer.
