This is a clone of the popular arcade classic Bubble Bobble. the unregistered version can be played up to level 8.

What's new in this version:

Registering online works again. The old version failed without a message and without billing.

Very good copy of the original but I had the problem of the creatures not being that close to my bub or bob and getting killed. I was playing in 800X600 mode as most of these games seem to like that resolution but it seemed the sprite collision detection was off. The bad guys would be a good 3/4 of and inch away from my player and he would die. This happened most often when coming from above at an angle.

One of my favorite games, Aperion X, has a bug that if you get a large bonus score over about 30000 points the game does not give you the points. I took a chance and made a killer move and got 100000 bonus points and never got them. I have notified Ambrosia but it was never fixed. Let's hope Bub & Bob won't take that route.

I played Bubble Bobble on my Commodore C64 and later on my Amiga. For over one year now I play Bub&Bob on my Mac. Everytime I do, it seems to be a journey into the past. Thank you for this great memento.....

Maybe this is a port, but I never heard of the original. Anyway, my kids love it. They've been glued to their iMac all weekend, playing. Younger Kidlet: "It's really fun because the high scores, I put 'Bub' (instead of my real name)!" Older Kidlet: "...And you can shoot!" Younger Kidlet: "Yeah, shoot fire!" Thanks for the great soft, guys.
