Massive Assault is a fully 3D turn-based strategy game set in a futuristic world of, missiles, mechs, and mayhem. With 26 different land, sea and air units, huge 3D landscapes and 6 different planets on which to battle, Massive Assault is a strategy gamer's dream. With Massive Assault you can play against the top-notch AI, or with your friends via hot-seat or over the internet. The game combines the best elements of turn-based war gaming with a unique "secret ally" political feature that can disrupt even the best laid battle plan.

What's new in this version:

  • Networking code updated to latest PC code. Fixes many problems with network play
  • Totally new rendering engine. Fixed many problems with first conversion model.
  • Texture reduction preference now works properly. Fixes many users with slow game response issues
  • Optimized rendering engine to speed it up. Was doing a large number of unecessary calculations. Vast speed improvement.
  • Audio now played through OpenAL. Fixes stability issues, is faster, and supports some specialized hardware

I tried the demo and it was buggy and slow on my G4. Even the fonts didn't display correctly. When the training level was completed I had to reboot my computer since it just hung ther. I really like turn based games, but give me less graphics and better AI. $15-$20 would be reasonable, but $40 is way way to much.

A shame the game's own creator doesn't care enough to mention them.

Also, the trailer video at apple.com isn't very enticing. A whole lot of units standing around like statues while enemy fire slowly destroys them. I expect at least a modicum of independent unit AI in a game like this.

Why is this listed here, when a OSX version is clearly NOT available?
I couldn't even find where to purchase the game domestically.

Poor marketing and distribution by these companies only hurts
the MAC gaming community when they complain about poor sales figures.
