This is terrible

Interface is nice, but adding recipes to it takes for ever. Every time I would add an ingredient, it would change it to something else. How hard is it to add 6 Tbsp Teriyaki sauce? More than a few minutes because it kept changing either the amount, or the ingredient with the last thing typed.

I'm using Measuring Cup 1.2.3 and I have to say that not only am I impressed by the app, but also the fantastic response by the creators of this program. My opinion on hardware/software is based on the motto: if I need to read instructions, and the program is counter-intuitive and confusing, than it just doesn't hold up for me; this is why I work on a mac and not a pc. As soon as I downloaded Measuring Cup, I just started typing away, and now I have a nice little collection of some of the many recipes I have and will enter. A simple and great way to organize all the recipes I have on note cards, newspaper clippings, napkins, into a neat (and back-up able) file that I can share with others.
By the service and communication I have had with this company, I am certain that Measuring Cup will only improve from version to version. I look forward to 1.3 sometime. And now that I know I like the program, I think I will work through some of the (simple) instructions.
Keep up the good work.

I just downloaded your software "Measuring Cup," began to fool around with it, and was impressed by its easiness of use, straightforwardness, and overall functionality. You wrote an elegant database application -- in several aspects more powerful than various commercial and/or shareware applications I've been trying for the past couple months -- and it will surely be my program of choice from now on.
As a newbie user, however, I'd like to suggest some features, if you don't mind. They are:
1. The ability to import xml or shtml data from the Internet. I can just imagine how hard it must be to write an algorithm that separates, classifies, and sorts all the information from an html document; nevertheless, it would be of great help if such function could be implemented, for it is a highly time-consuming process to copy and paste all the info from a recipe web page.
2. A direct link within the program to your website, where users could download and upload (trade) their recipes. With this feature, you would actually know who your users are, their tastes, and even have a general idea about their social status. This is a valuable and highly appreciated information, especially for market research companies.
3. A preset database, where users could have a formal idea (or an example) on how to systematize their own data.
Well, this is it, so far. I want to thank you for the time and energy spent into writing such a good application, and for offering it as freeware. Thank you also for reading this email and considering my ideas.
