What's new in this version:

  • Improved color reproduction of the SD14's RAW images.
  • Coloring at the corners of the image generated under a specific condition of the DP1's RAW image has been improved.
  • When the image's white balance, captured by a custom white balance, was changed using Sigma Photo Pro, the image was not able to return to the original condition. This color balance was corrected even if it returned it to "former setting" afterwards.

Sigma Photo Pro ReviewNot quite ready for prime time - Version: 3.2, 4/27/2008 02:21PM PST

I'm an experienced user of Sigma DSLRs and the Photo Pro Software for Mac. This version, 3.2, came out only a few days after 3.1 to correct problems with the white balance controls. The problem with this version is that making two changes to white balance in a photo will crash the program and dump the user out to the OS. I'm not the only one reporting this problem. Sigma has not responded to an email for a fix or workaround hence this review. Unless you are using the DP-1 and must have this software I would recommend not using it. If you are using it with the SD-14 and it is crashing your make then you can workaround it by not changing the white balance setting more than once and saving the edited image. If you must change the setting again then reopen the image and make the change, again saving it. If you're using the older SD-10 and 9, then I recommend not moving to this newer version yet as the problems outweigh any benefits. It might be wise to wait for 3.3. In the meantime, it would be nice to hear from Sigma.
