Product Description:

Echelon is a MPEG-1/2 video encoding program that accepts a wide array of media formats with custom settings and customizable presets. Accepts a wide variety of avi (divx, 3ivx, etc...) mpeg-1/2, .mov as well as many other formats. It contains queue capabilities and has a built in preview window.

What's new in this version:

  1. bin file support: you can drag in multiple bin files and it will convert to MPG and add the file to the queue. (the files will be converted to MPG in the folder where the .bin resides)
  2. multiple file selection: you can select multiple files and apply settings to them.
  3. DV file support: this is somewhat untested, so we will need some feedback from the users to see how well this is working.
  4. Open preset folder: This will open the preset folder, you can delete presets or rename them here, or even share presets with a friend.
  5. Resized Progress: The resize button will collapse the screen into a smaller window, similar to the itunes resize feature.
  6. Localization: French has been added as a language in the application, more to come later.

Bugs Fixed:

  1. anamorphic to standard fixed: Some of the modes (QT/mpeg2enc) weren't working properly to convert widescreen to 4:3 for non DVD output, this should all be fixed.
  2. preset rename: the presets would rename the output file when applied, leading to confusing output file names, this has been fixed.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
  • Preferred CPU: G4 or better

i red a lot of these posts about the dev and how dam'n trashed his app now is or should be, but i think that this hole thing got so big, he couldn't have been thinking of that, he just acted. he acted for good and understandable reasons - jeah an crossed a line. now the hole web community pull out their toungths to give him hell. ok, and now stop one moment and think a few seconds before acting nearly as stupid! in my opinion, he learned his lesson and now let him try to be better then this. every one schould give him a chance now to proof that this was a mistake - and i think of it like, a mistake of whitch evey one laughes about in 10-20 years. as i did somthing wrong in my youth, got couth by the police and was brought back home by 'em. i got hell from my parents and neighbours but i got a chance to proof that i had learned my lesson, the dev has his too. i think he is more sensible where the line is, than any other of you, now! give him a chance and get over this mistake - no one is this perfect to throw stones at him!

Echelon ReviewNot worth the risk of erasing your important data. - Version: 1.1, 10/6/2004 09:21AM PST

Sorry but erasing user data is not the way to handle pirated software. I don't care if it has been disabled, there is no action this guy could take that would make me want to even demo any software he could possibly come up with.
