Skype is the next phenomenon from the people who brought you KaZaA. Just like KaZaA, Skype uses P2P (peer-to-peer) technology to connect you to other users – not to share files this time, but to talk and chat with your friends. Skype ReviewWarning! - Version: 2.8.0.722, 11/29/2009 01:05PM PST

I installed this version of Skype on my MacBook (10.6.2) and Skype will not even boot up. Hopefully I can go back to the earlier version.

I certainly don't recommend this version for 10.6.2

I've tried the new version 2.8.0.722, but my experience wasn't too good.

The new interface is more like the windows version, crunched with things. Some people like it, I rather the clean style (like in Mac-Gnome).

But what made me return to the previous version I had installed was the quality. Sound and video were quite terrible. I tried deleting preferences and fix permissions but it didn't do any good.

For me (Macbook pro1,1, OS 10.5.8 at test-time and 10.6.1 now) Skype version 2.7.0.330 is the one that works the best so far.
