Have used this version from first release on a Mac Book using 10.5.8 and 1MB memory. Performs well in all aspects. Occasionally drops video or calls but this appears to be related to internet performance. Call quality when land lines are called can be variable but computer to computer has been excellent in all respects.
broken with 10.5.8 - Version: 2.8.0.722, 1/23/2010 07:57AM PST

this version won't launch under 10.5.8 on a MacPro 1st gen.
I stepped back to 2.7.
Too bad Skype doesn't allow feedback from your regular acct without some other "dev" acct.
But I'm sure they'll find out it's broke.

I downloaded and installed Skype for Mac 2.8.0.722 to video-chat with a friend on xmas day. I have an original MacBook Pro, running 10.6.2.
Over the course of two or three hours, the video locked up several times. About half the time I could get it back just by quitting & restarting Skype, but three times I had to delete both Skype's Preferences and Application Support folders to get it working again. Deleting just one or the other didn't do it.
After that we tried just using voice chat, which was no better, so we finally wound up just using text chat.
It was fun when it worked, but it would need to work a lot higher percentage of the time before I could recommend Skype if you have a Mac. I think I'm going to take another reviewer's advice and try to get my friend to switch to Google Chat before we do this again.
