Product Description:

How does it work? Either add feeds manually using the "+" button or drag the feed from your web browser onto the feed view. The rest should be self-explanatory. The only non-visible UI shortcut is that command-number shortcuts can be used to navigate the feeds. Please note, this is a very early beta release. The UI is far from perfected and numerous planned features are not present. Of particular note is that this beta does not support Atom feeds, though this is forthcoming, as well as support for smart feeds, groups, and advanced appearance prefs. The beta expires October 14th.

What's new in this version:

  • Feeds are downloaded from the server only if they have changes, saving the feed's webserver much in the way of bandwidth (304 Not Modified). Further to this, the feed is gzip compressed (if the server supports it), saving even more bandwidth.
  • Images are now properly displayed in some feeds.
  • Unicode characters properly display in the feed list.

    I used to like this app, but it now appears to force you to subscribe to the developers own feed. Not the kind of feature worth upgrading for!

    Sporadic development meaning the developer gets around to revisions on his own sweet time. The latest removed more features that it added. NetNewsWire is vastly superior is every way.
