Derelict Developer NoteRe: 16 bit problem - Version: 1.02, 3/9/2005 12:34PM PST

The game can run in 32 bit. In the <user>/library/application support directory, there is a derelict player data folder. In it is a derelict.cfg file that is created the first time you run the game. If you add "bitdepth=32" to the video section in that file, it will run in 32 bit. It should look like

[video]
bitdepth=32

I'll look at ways to set this without having to edit files.

Derelict Troubleshooting Reportdoesn't work with current state of the Radeon drivers on my pbook... - Version: 1.02, 3/9/2005 08:32AM PST

Currently there is an issue where on some powerbooks running the latest system, things running in 16 bit show up as garbage... a fix would be to have a pop up pre-start that lets the user choose to go into 32bit color depth. Will forward this to the programmer, but this is not really the programmer's fault.

From what I hear on some dev boards, this was introduced in 10.3.8 and affects (at least known) powerbook's with 64mb Radeon 9600s. aka aluminum 15s from last year, etc...

I just completed the demo of this game, and it was excellent. The graphics are a bit on the chunky side, but the animation is fast and furious, and it definitely is a finger-twitcher. I recommend this game to any arcade fan--it brings me back!

The demo was a bit short (or maybe I'm just really good? Nah!), and the full game perhaps a tad expensive, but otherwise it was excellent. Good work!
