lets see. i always like seeing system info..

where to start, as soon as i launched it i got an error, on second launch i did not get error again. and i didnt pay attention to the message.

while trying to update the window info i got applescript errors, which also do not happen on a second launch.

my system is a Digital Audio G4 Dual 533 PPC currently running Tiger 10.4.6

also clicking on check for updates tells me theres a newer update, when i download it, i get the same version again.

iTattle CommentaryI hope this doesn't become a trend - Version: 3.0, 12/24/2005 05:57AM PST

I truly hope development "exclusively for Mac OS X 10.4" doesn't become a trend. Some of us are so disgusted with Tiger that we've never upgraded-or have reverted to Panther as I did.

iTattle ReviewGood idea, but.... - Version: 2.1, 12/9/2005 10:54PM PST

The idea behind iTattle is sound - it's especially attractive to us SA-types who need to get an overview of a system that includes details that the System Profiler doesn't.

However....

On my G5, it reports the incorrect amount of RAM installed. It says 2048M, I have 2560M. For Sound Volume, it reports "missing value% of full". Pulling up user info gives columes with poor formatting, and an inability to scroll all the way to the right - I have to resize the window.

For networking, it reports "TITLE" for the external IP address, and "n/a" for DNS servers (which I do have set). The list goes on.

This is under a fairly vanilla 10.4.3 install.

It's a good concept, but flawed at this point. I plan on checking in again in a few revisions to try it again.

iTattle Developer NoteBacked up source code destroyed - Version: 2.1, 8/19/2005 09:22AM PST

On Wednesday August 17 the iBook G4 which I use for development, had a little mishap. I was formatting my backup drive getting ready to do a backup and playing Sesame Street games with my son. Then, the drive began making scraping sounds and the system became unresponsive. I could not do anything, I force shut down the computer and tried to boot again, but it would not do so. After working with Disk Utility and DiskWarrior, I could not recover the drive. Disk Utility refused to acknowledge its existance. Also, my backup disk was fully formatted. In short, I have lost all of the source code for iTattle, Widget Master and iYML. There will no longer be updates to these programs until I can reconstruct them which will take time. The downloadable versions of the apps are still online and downloadable. If you would like to make a small donation to help me get the iBook repaired, it would be greawtly appreciated. Thank you for understanding.

Version 2.0.1 of iTattle is now working... no more AppleScript errors. Thanks for the quick turn-around time on the fix.

iTattle 2.0.1 has fixed the errors reported below. It turns out there was an error in getting disk size info that didn't show up on my iBook G4. Since I only have one Mac I try to keep everything as generic as I can for work for all, but every once in a while you run in to one thing that repors a result on a PowerBook or iMac differently than an iBook.

Hope this update helps, and thank you for your continued support.

I had the same problems as some others. Install went smoothly but it wouldn't run on MacOS 10.3.9. Too bad because version 1.6 was pretty nice.

iTattle 2.0 does not launch on PB 1GHz OS 10.4.1. It hangs with "AppleScript Error NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4(1)" :-(
