Product Description:

Brain Hotel is a point-and-click adventure in the tradition of classic LucasArts games like Maniac Mansion and the Monkey Island series.

Reluctantly, Ed joins in the struggle to defeat one particularly nasty supervillain.

Brain Hotel ReviewIt's Ok - Version: 1.0, 12/2/2004 04:37PM PST

I suspect that most of the other reviewers are friends of the author.

While the app is somewhat interesting and I liked the comic book style, the characters repeated themselves a lot, and most of the tasks were too obscure to figure out without the ( very good ) hints page on the website. That, and the game was too modal. ( i.e. You have to complete many tasks in a specific order. )

It's an interesting idea, well done, and it's free, so I don't wanna be too down on it, but if you're looking at this star rating and comparing it to other things available on VersionTracker, I think that 2 stars is a more appropriate rating.

This game was simply fun to play. The offbeat humor was great! I had a blast playing and look forward to future titles from this company... try out their other game "Case of the Crabs" for a film-noir style adventure game!

The puzzles are challenging, though the overall game isn't all that long. There's a variety of hidden jokes throughout the game as well. My only complaint is with the stability... once, the game's interface became entirely unresponsive, requiring a quit. This was a bit frustrating, as I hadn't saved the game recently. I recommend saving often.

All in all a great game, especially for the price!

Brain Hotel Troubleshooting ReportI can't start it! - Version: 1.0, 10/9/2004 05:02PM PST

Skizzo
I am in OS 9.2.2, and I can't start the darn thing.
Inside the folder I get after unzipping, I find a "__MACOSX" folder, a "brainhotel_mac" folder, and inside that one "SWF" file and "brainhotel", with no icon or extension.
What am I supposed to do now?
Or is it this thing for OS X only? (there's no requirements instructions, neither in the file nor on developer site)
