I posted last night that I was having difficulties with 1.1.6 crashing on launch. I emailed the developer and received a reply within a few hours along with a test version of Steel which fixed the problem (though due to the time difference and work I didn't actually check it out until a few minutes ago). Regardless, I am completely impressed and awestruck by such fast, friendly, effective service!! Thank you Gabriele!

I've used Steel for years and it's always been reliable and fine, but I just downloaded and installed the update; Steel 1.1.6 quits immediately on launch when trying to open my existing .steel file (as specified in preferences) with all of my data. So I trashed the preferences, re-entered my registration code, Steel opened fine. Went to open my registrations.steel file, selected it, clicked "Open", and Steel quits without any error report being generated.
Repaired permissions and tried again, same result.
Reverted to 1.1.5 and exported all my data into tab-delimited format. Trashed the preferences file again, opened 1.1.6 and imported the data. Seemed to work fine; I saved the file and quit Steel, then opened it again. Back to square one, as the program again crashed without producing an error. Happens consistently on both a PowerPC G5 and a MacBook Pro, both running Leopard.
I'll be sending a support request to the developer, but in the interim, if you use Steel and haven't yet upgraded to 1.1.6, make sure you export all your data from Steel just to be safe.

Doesn't have ton load of bells and whistles, but rock solid and works great!
Have had it for 2 years now and never had any major issues.
Though, entering your serial when doing a reinstall where you have to grab the apps serial from inside to register the product is a bit annoying!
Other than that, like it alot!
