Product Description:

KIT is like a magic scrapbook for everything you want to keep. Text, documents, images, movies, sounds, web pages and bookmarks can all be dragged to KIT for safe keeping, previewed, collected together in different ways and found again immediately.

Files can be tagged, color-coded with categories and sorted into groups; unlike folders, these work like iTunes playlists so that a file can exist in more than one group at a time. KIT's smart groups will do all the hard work of staying organized for you.

KIT shows previews for most popular file formats, meaning you don't have to open other applications to review files. KIT also creates and saves bookmarks and web archives. KIT will save web pages that preserve all the original links and content and work with popular web browsers such as Safari and OmniWeb. KIT indexes the contents of all kinds of files so they can be found again as quickly as you can type.

What's new in this version:

  • Files can now be assigned searchable tags
  • Files can be rated with up to 5 stars
  • Save to PDF from other applications
  • A customizable shortcut key to make KIT the active application
  • Added Web preferences for controlling the content displayed in previewed web content
  • Previews of source code files
  • Updated and improved UI
  • Support for Growl

Keep It Together CommentaryTried them all and Together rules 4 me! - Version: 2.2.9, 6/29/2009 08:25AM PST

Like the title says Together rules. One of the least talked about features is the ability to edit an imported Web Archive. I edit all of my Web Archive's and remove all the add's, comments and any unwanted information. Not only does this speed up loading of the Web Archive in the future because the web rendering engine doesn't have to go online and download the linked ad images but it saves much needed disk space. The developer is constantly improving and releasing updates. When was the last time Bare Bones software updated Yojimbo? Don't get me wrong Yojimbo is a great utility if you want a bare bones utility (no pun intended, honest) but if looking for a full featured saving utility then Together is the BEST!

Keep It Together ReviewBetter than Yojimbo - Version: 2.2.8, 4/25/2009 05:10AM PST

After using Yojimbo for years, I found Together had more things I wanted. The absolute BEST feature for me is being able to edit my web archives. After saving a webpage to Together, you can do things like remove unwanted ads and highlight any interesting text as you please. The other nice thing is it gives you handy font and color tools for editing your notes, which I use just to highlight things. (Hey, it might be nice if they added those same tools for webpage edits as well.) Yojimbo gave you no easy way to highlight your notes or edit your saved webpages. I also like the following things: you can save things using Services, you can add webpages from Safari by giving it a special link they call a "bookmarklet" and you can sync with MobileMe.

The only negatives about this program I would say are: using tags is a bit awkward (though I'm not a big tags person); you ought to be able to create, drag and drop tags effortlessly from the main view, instead of having to go into a special tags view and even there it's kind of clumsy. The other negative might be that it's a bit pricey, But it's worth it for me for the things that I want.

This is what I am looking for, an application that fits my need!

you can create your own project and create notes, then pull the files together or related to one project, it may link or copy it over the files, any files will do.

I've used shovebox before, its great, however, cant put my stuff into it aside from pdf or docs.
I havent encountered any bugs or porblem yet, so ill give 5 stars!
