Product Description:

KIT - Keep It Together - is a new application for Mac OS X that lets you keep your stuff in one place, organize it in different ways and find it again in an instant.

Files, folders, text and images can all be dragged to and from KIT and easily opened in other applications for editing. KIT can also link to files using aliases to keep track of the originals even if you move or rename them. KIT can show previews of many popular file types including Word, RTF, PDF and HTML documents, many image formats, sound files and QuickTime movies. You can also create notes with extensive formatting and editing features for all those nuggets of information you need to keep - somewhere!

Files can color-coded using categories and organized into groups, Groups work like folders, but with the essential difference that a file can be kept in more than one group at a time so you can easily reuse your stuff without making copies. Or create smart groups, which do the hard work of staying organized for you. KIT uses the super-fast search technology built into Mac OS X to index the contents of everything you add, and for files that aren't textual such as images, sounds, QuickTime movies or indeed any kind of file, KIT lets you add searchable comments so you will always be able to find what you're looking for.

KIT ReviewBrilliiant - Version: 2.3.1, 12/1/2009 11:22AM PST

The best feature for me is Together's ability to import and show iWork docs - Pages, Numbers and Keynote - NONE of the competition can do this (MacJournal, Yojimbo, CircusPonies, or Journler for example) -it's just the best ans I've road testes them all!

KIT CommentaryTried them all and Together rules 4 me! - Version: 2.2.9, 6/29/2009 08:25AM PST

Like the title says Together rules. One of the least talked about features is the ability to edit an imported Web Archive. I edit all of my Web Archive's and remove all the add's, comments and any unwanted information. Not only does this speed up loading of the Web Archive in the future because the web rendering engine doesn't have to go online and download the linked ad images but it saves much needed disk space. The developer is constantly improving and releasing updates. When was the last time Bare Bones software updated Yojimbo? Don't get me wrong Yojimbo is a great utility if you want a bare bones utility (no pun intended, honest) but if looking for a full featured saving utility then Together is the BEST!

KIT ReviewBetter than Yojimbo - Version: 2.2.8, 4/25/2009 05:10AM PST

After using Yojimbo for years, I found Together had more things I wanted. The absolute BEST feature for me is being able to edit my web archives. After saving a webpage to Together, you can do things like remove unwanted ads and highlight any interesting text as you please. The other nice thing is it gives you handy font and color tools for editing your notes, which I use just to highlight things. (Hey, it might be nice if they added those same tools for webpage edits as well.) Yojimbo gave you no easy way to highlight your notes or edit your saved webpages. I also like the following things: you can save things using Services, you can add webpages from Safari by giving it a special link they call a "bookmarklet" and you can sync with MobileMe.

The only negatives about this program I would say are: using tags is a bit awkward (though I'm not a big tags person); you ought to be able to create, drag and drop tags effortlessly from the main view, instead of having to go into a special tags view and even there it's kind of clumsy. The other negative might be that it's a bit pricey, But it's worth it for me for the things that I want.
