Product Description:

This program may be used to setup and customize a PostgreSQL server : Just drop PostgreSQLX.app in your application folder, launch it, and customize your server(s). 3 versions are available :

  • An application with an embedded server : There is no need to download or install anything because the last version of the server (PostgreSQL 7.4.3) is already embedded within PostgreSQLX.app.
  • An application without the server : You MUST have a valid PostgreSQL setup somewhere.
  • A preference pane without the server : You MUST have a valid PostgreSQL setup somewhere (This can be the full PostgreSQLX.app application).

PostgreSQLX ReviewGreat program! We need to encourage this developer... - Version: 0.3, 2/22/2007 07:17PM PST

Great program. We need to encourage this developer to update this beautiful solution with more features for newer versions of Postgres.

Just one note: remember to enable TCP/IP sockets before being able to connect to the server.

PostgreSQLX Troubleshooting ReportNow what? - Version: 0.3, 4/22/2005 03:38PM PST

I got it up and running... now what do I do? I figured out I could access commands such as "createdb" through the terminal using

sudo -u postgres /Applications...full path to app/bin/createdb

However, I would like to use one of the GUI apps available to work with my data. Right now I have NO IDEA how to get them to connect to my server. Sooner or later PostgreSQL and MySQL will make it into the mainstream so please please please keep that in mind.

PostgreSQLX CommentaryPostgreSQLX and Version 8 - Version: 0.3, 3/10/2005 03:36PM PST

Well, this certainly made setting up my 7.4 database very fast & easy! I am wondering about the new PostgreSQL version - will you be creating a new version of PostgreSQLX with version 8 imbedded, or is it possible to update the db independently?
