Product Description:

This is a preview release of the first native soulseek client for Mac OS X. It is based off the source code of SoleSeek, a dead project of similar aims. Not every feature exists, but you can download and upload, chat in rooms or privately. Look for future releases. If you need a full-featured client, for now you should look at nicotine. But if you want a fast client that will get your downloads done in a hurry, look no further than SolarSeek.

What's new in this version:

The new version
  • keeps your downloads when you close the application and starts them the next time you sign on.
  • lets you sort columns (implemented only basically).
  • fixes browsing/general peer connection errors when behind a firewall.
  • adds more context menus.
  • multi-threads big messages (room joins, etc) for better response time.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • This application requires Mac OS X 10.3

I don't like that the "share folder contents" feature doesn't work... cuz I don't know about you but I like getting albums at a time! ... not that this even lets me download anything. it crashes every time a download begins. BAD.

SolarSeek ReviewSame issues... - Version: 0.95.3, 3/10/2008 12:03AM PST

Just wanted to add my two cents to the list... I do not recommend this. I have a Macbook (intel) with Leopard... so maybe it just doesn't work for what I have. It always crashes RIGHT when it's about to start downloading something... How annoying! Still looking for something better. Soulseex was much worse, by the way. It wouldn't even try to look for files.

SolarSeek ReviewGood music selection, but has some bugs - Version: 0.95.3, 10/11/2007 05:10AM PST

Well, of all the P2P I've tried Soulseek is the one that does it for me because there's plenty of rock metal underground, demos, live bootlegs. I was using this on a PC, but since now I have a Mac I was quite happy to find this software so I can cooncet again to Soulseek, I even found some people I used to talk on line when I was using this on a PC. So for music choice this remains my favourite, though the Mac version is not as good as the PC, sometimes it doesn't connect, I've had searches I've done through users that I can't seem to delete and they just stay there, looks like there's some functionality issues to resolve and update.
