Product Description:
Namely is possibly the fastest way to open applications. And unlike some other launchers, it doesn't require any learning.
You simply hit your preferred keyboard shortcut to show it and start typing part of an application's name. It shows you a list of matches and narrows it down as you type. Most of the time, one or two letters are enough, especially since Namely learns your habits and makes your most-used apps even quicker to access. It's basically Spotlight for applications, only much faster.
What's new in this version:
- Redesigned the main window. You can customise its appearance in the preferences.
- The window snaps to the screen edges when you move it. You can stop it from doing this by holding down Option of Shift.
- Namely now tracks your usage and will put more frequently used apps higher in the list.
- You can now exclude an item selected in the search results directly by pressing Command-Delete or through the File menu.
- Apps where any word in the name starts with the typed characters now get the same precedence as those where the characters appear right at the beginning.
- The result list is now shown above the search field if the window is close to the bottom edge of the screen.
- Namely will automatically rebuild the application list if the Applications folder has changed since the last reload.
- Changed the default hot key to Option-Escape, as Command-Escape clashes with Front Row on the new iMacs.
- Pressing the hot key will now hide Namely when it is active.
- A cancel button is shown when you type, which clears the text. (Pressing Escape will do the same.)
- Hopefully fixed a problem where duplicates were showing for some users.
- This version doesn't currently include French and Traditional Chinese localisations.
