Web design: If you have a large monitor, create a full size image with outlines of more common screen sizes to accurately check how your pages will look on different monitors.

Comedy: Take a full screenshot of your desktop. Make alarming changes with an image editing app. & use this picture for Backdrop....... even better if you can sneak this onto someone else's computer

Press Command-Shift-4, then press space, then you can take a screenshot of a window instead of the screen.

Backdrop Developer NoteSome Uses for Backdrop - Version: 1.3, 1/21/2005 07:19PM PST

Just a few uses from feedback I've gotten the past few months... For screenshots, Backdrop is most useful for taking full-screen snapshots where you might want a generic background. Some users leave Backdrop open all the time to allow them to focus on only one application (or a few chosen windows) at a time.

Backdrop ReviewA simple utility I've become addicted to! - Version: 1.2, 9/14/2004 04:41AM PST

This a great little app! Tice_582- - you can choose to leave backdrop white or _use your own pic/image_ same as screenshot helper. Did you miss this part: What's new: *Picture Option. Drag an image or choose a file to use for the backdrop.*

I run our local Mac Users Group and use Backdrop all the time to cover the clutter on my desktop when I make screen captures. Works great!
