MrScopa ReviewFun, but needs more work - Version: 1.0.3, 8/14/2004 03:05PM PST

The game is fun. Unfortunately the interface is a bit confusing. There are several minor issues that led me to think that this game still needs some work to be complete, but it surely does have the potential to become a good Scopa game.

As an example: it is hard to understand which cards you have selected at first. Maybe instead of putting a coloured line at it's bottom the game could simply move the selected cards up a bit.

The documentation is complicated to understand if you don't know the rules already. Maybe because it is written in a poor/confusing english. The game would have a much broader audience if more attention went to the documentation.

On a side note I would like to see this game include the "aces eat all cards" variant of the game. I do not consider the lack of this variant a problem with the game (as the rules obviously change between regions), but in the nord of italy everyone plays with that rule, and it should not be hard to add such a feature to the game.

I don't want to bash this game excessively as it has a good potential. It is fun already as it is, but I wouldn't pay for this application in it's current state. I really hope the guy that put this application together spends some more time on it, so it will eventually become a game that is worth my money. = )
