Lab Meter CommentaryLab Meter 5.0 - Version: 5.0.5, 6/19/2005 10:43PM PST

we made separate small and quick apps for each purpose instead of one app that has all features that you may not need for your purpose. also you don't have to pay for the full price one big app with all features you don't even use.

it's 5.0 because there were previous versions for Mac OS 9 and earlier.

Bass Tuner especially needed to be a separate app in order to optimize it for the lower frequency. and it now supports 5- and 6-string bass guitars.

I don't see the point of making five different tuning products when they all essentially do the same exact thing. I also can't imagine how these products got to version "5.0" already -- I wonder if they even have 5 significant features that required 5 major versions? The user interface is downright prehistoric too (although cavemen painted far nicer-looking things on walls). I don't see how they can even be called "1.0".

The bass tuner strikes me as particularly stupid; it's just a simplified tuner that only shows EADG (the four strings on a typical bass guitar). Well guess what guys; I don't know if you've actually owned a musical instrument, but they make five- (and six-) string basses too, so really, making a specialized "bass" tuner instead of a general one was a fairly **** idea that just ended up limiting the usefulness of the product.
