I don't see the point of making five different tuning products when they all essentially do the same exact thing. I also can't imagine how these products got to version "5.0" already -- I wonder if they even have 5 significant features that required 5 major versions? The user interface is downright prehistoric too (although cavemen painted far nicer-looking things on walls). I don't see how they can even be called "1.0".
The bass tuner strikes me as particularly stupid; it's just a simplified tuner that only shows EADG (the four strings on a typical bass guitar). Well guess what guys; I don't know if you've actually owned a musical instrument, but they make five- (and six-) string basses too, so really, making a specialized "bass" tuner instead of a general one was a fairly **** idea that just ended up limiting the usefulness of the product.

it's 5.0 because there were previous versions for Mac OS 9 and earlier.
Bass Tuner especially needed to be a separate app in order to optimize it for the lower frequency. and it now supports 5- and 6-string bass guitars.
