Countdown - 1.2

Sometimes you just gotta wait for something to happen. You keep waiting and waiting. And finally you realize that you are to late. The train left, your class started, or your cake is now a burnt, inedible biscuit. With Countdown, you'll never have to eat a crunchy cake again! Countdown is a simple, efficient timer that puts the countdown in a very accessible place: in your status bar. You can easily tell at a glance how much time is left. Best of all, it's free!

Countdown is a one-trick pony, but it does it well. All it does is keep track of the time and alert you when the timer reaches zero. You can enter an end-date into the topmost field (examples: "3 pm", "12:01 am tomorrow") or enter how many hours, minutes, and seconds you need in the bottom fields. After you've done the simple setup, simply hit the "Start Countdown" button. Countdown updates a status bar item as it counts down. When it reaches zero, it shows a message and plays a sound to alert you. It's as simple as it is handy.

In addition to putting the timer in the status bar so that you can find it easily, Countdown also gives you ready access to pausing the timer quickly from the menu bar. Clicking on the time shows a menu that allows you to pause the time, open the main Countdown window again, or conveniently quit the application.
