Product Description:

GasLight is an OpenGL visualizer for iTunes. It's essentially yet another spectrum analyzer, but is highly customizable to produce some beautiful effects.
Update, 4th July:
I've discovered a slight flaw : pixel shaders aren't working on any cards except the GeforceFX and the Radeon 9600-9800.

Oooops.

So I'm currently rewriting things to use Cg instead of ARB_FRAGMENT_PROGRAM...it might take a while, but it should support a greater range of cards afterward.

Apologies for the screwup - that's what I get for only being able to test on one Mac...

In the meantime, GasLight will work fine on most cards, it's just that the glow effects won't be as refined as they could be.

What's new in this version:

  • Added support for creation of new presets
  • Improved glow effects for non-pixel shader cards. (i.e. it's no longer a totally blinding wash of color)
  • Extra configuration options - display orientation and zoom rotation
  • Misc. bits and pieces
  • Fixed crash on duplicate preset names
  • Updated preset versioning - old presets will be lost.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
    iTunes
A decent video card (supporting pixel shaders) is highly recommended

GasLight Troubleshooting ReportCrash of ITunes after terminating this viewer - Version: 1.0, 1/25/2007 12:43PM PST

Interesting notation (not in console log which simply shows kern protection notes but in iTunes Crash log showing the notation foo...we got nuttin boss now that is an interesting notation obviously made by this visualiser's crash. I have used Gaslight since inception without incident keeping it in my/library/itunes/plugins. This time I deleted the plugin there and placed it in my ~/library/itunes/plugins. It launched OK but quitting it crashed iTunes. Removing the plugin restored iTunes to normal performance. I checked all my visualisers with tunes from iTunes playing
and they launch and quit OK now. I am using 10.4.8 on my G5 obviously PPC.
