Product Description:

This is a very simple MUD client. It does a couple things none of them do, but mostly you'll notice that it has no triggers or aliases or anything.
Some of the features worth mentioning:
  • If it can figure it out, Moxie will display your current room in the status bar. Unfortunately, this is insanely hard to do right for everyone without some kind of scripting language, so you basically need to have your wiz flag set on a MUSH for it to work.
  • Auto-login to servers. You can have Moxie save your username and password (in the keychain), and it will log you in to a server as soon as you connect.
  • Startup items, so you can just double-click Moxie to open any sessions you always want open.
  • A world selector window. I hate tabs. I like what tabs can do. This is my answer to the problem. It's a little buggy, for reasons I can't fathom, but I'm guessing I'm asking OS X to do something it doesn't really want to do.
  • Logging.
  • Transparent windows. C'mon, guys - everything should have that option!

What's new in this version:

  • Plugin System is here. The plugins are written in Lisp thanks to ECL. ASDF and CL-PPCRE are also included. See the help file for details.
  • Help is now available in the standard place. It's pretty empty at the moment, but includes some pointers on how to get started with the plugin system. There is also a sample plugin provided in the application bundle, in the "PlugIns" directory.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

I logged into our game and, after requesting ANSI color, was presented with a strange black-and-white display of brackets and numbers surrounding uncolored text. Removing color presented a clean black-and-white version of our game, but after all the trouble the client goes through to give you good color selections, it was disappointing to see

A wealth of attention is paid to text management, with such features as kerning and ligature that struck me as a bit strange for an environment where a fixed-width font is the norm.

With a tiny bit of tuning, and functionality for aliases, keybinding and the like, this one has possibilities (not being a LISP user, I didn't even attempt the Lisp REPL window beyond peeking in). I'm looking forward to the next update.
