Many sites are broken with this release. Stay with 0.9.6.2, it is much more compatible!

I don't know if this works or not. Is there a way to test it in Firefox or Camino. I just keep updating it. It's the most annoying thing I keep updated. I always have to open the read me because I forget where it goes and to copy the thang to put in the Terminal to update that date. Dang, you can't think of an easier way. Maybe someone can make an installer for you or a script or something.

For the first time in months FIREFOX no long crashes on applet embedded pages! I'm really thankful for this update. It didn't work until I opened the FIREFOX package CONTENTS folder to remove the binaries in there and trash them. This may have been my trouble all along. But this is the first README file that has instructed the user to do this. The proceedure is outlined.

Thank you!!

Java Embedding Plugin Troubleshooting ReportInstall Instructions for Camino / Firefox - Version: 0.9.5+d, 3/19/2006 11:49AM PST

Since both browsers now bundle this plugin, to update you must right click on app, show package contents, contents, MacOS, Plugins. Replace files there with D versions. Works and passes Java test link. Makes Camino truly universal. Make sure same version is replaced in usual internet plugins folder.

Unable to connect

HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO RATE THIS AS WE CAN'T EVEN GET TO YOUR WEB-SITE EITHER? THIS SEEMS LIKE A CRUEL JOKE AND YOUR FAILURE TO RESPOND TO THESE COMMENTARIES DOESN'T HELP EITHER? I WOULD THINK YOU WOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HOWEVER IT HAS NOT EVEN AWOKEN YOU!

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at sourceforge.net.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I have tried to download it here, and directly from Sourceforge and all I get is a 13kb file that doesn't contain anything. Hey, Mr. Michaud, it isn't even April 1st!

This does not work in the Deerpark trunk of Firefox. I go to about:plugins, and it lists this as well as 0.9.5+c. When I click to test the VM, no applet is loaded. Tried the same URL in Safari and it worked fine, showed that I was using Java 1.5_05

Java Embedding Plugin Troubleshooting ReportDoesn't work for me... - Version: 0.9.5+c, 1/30/2006 04:17PM PST

I installed the plugins in the /Library/InternetPlugins/ folder as described in the installation notes, and made sure that the MRJPlugin had the latest date stamp.

I then went into Camino (a G4 7450-optimized nightly) and typed 'about:plugins" in the address bar, and it showed that this version of the JEP was installed... so I clicked the 'Test Your JVM' link above the plugin entry and it shows a broken plugin icon at Sun's Java Applet test site.

I uninstalled the plugin, went back through the same scenario and the 'b' version of the plugin works fine (the one that's embedded in Camino).

So, there's something wrong with this version, but I know not what.
