Product Description:

Boinx FotoMagico lets you create professional slideshows from your photos and music with just a few, simple mouse clicks. It sports a very clean and intuitive yet powerful user interface. High image quality, fast performance, and user flexibility were some of the design goals for this application.

Create the most spectacular slideshows:

  • Scale, move, rotate, zoom or pan around your images to highlight that part that matters the most.
  • Your slides fit together perfectly with the new, gorgeous transitions.
  • Provide more meaning with subtle titles here and there.

Perform a breathtaking show:

  • Your slideshow uses the best possible resolution of your presentation device.
  • Use large displays, HDTV screens and other high resolution devices.
  • Even on a VGA projector, your photos will look better with FotoMagico.

Your audience will want to take it home:

  • Burn DVDs of your slideshow with iDVD or Roxio Toast.
  • Put your slideshow on your iPod.
  • Create a stand-alone player that will present in full resolution on any Mac (without FotoMagico installed). (Pro-Version)
  • Create Mac OS X screensavers playing full resolution slideshows. (Pro-Version)
  • Add branding via watermark artwork. (Pro-Version)
  • Export in almost any QuickTime format.

Your audience will never fall asleep again.

Express vs. Pro.
FotoMagico 2 Express is now even more affordable for the casual photographer using iPhoto to manage the photos. For professional photographers, FotoMagico 2 Pro can use images from Apple Aperture libraries and allows for custom branding of slideshows with a watermark.

What's new in this version:

  • Version 2.2 introduces the Sharing Assistant which replaces the old export user interface. Access it via the "Share..." menu item in the "FotoMagico" menu. The old "Export..." menu command is still accessible by pressing the alt/option key.
  • The web plugin in the Sharing Assistant now offers direct to web publishing. Choose one of the built-in themes, customize the web page, and upload to .Mac or any web server.
  • FotoMagico now offers Elgato Turbo.264 support when sharing your slideshow for iPod, iPhone, or AppleTV.
  • Added iChat Theater integration.
  • Added QuickLook plugin.
  • When using the Sharing Assistant for the first time, the user is now prompted to enable high quality playback in QuickTime Player.
  • New and improved about window for standalone players.
  • Web themes can be installed by double-clicking them in the Finder.
  • Debug logging preferences now expire after a few days and are reset to avoid negative impact on performance.
  • All sharing plugins now use the new 2-pass export, which produces higher quality movies, at the expense of higher disk space usage.
  • New document sheet now sports a recent documents popup menu for convenient access.
  • Made info fields in slideshow settings more consistent with web sharing plugin.
  • Replaced some icons in the toolbar and made playback buttons resolution independent.
  • Some documents with references to a watermark image on missing volumes failed to open. Document now opens again, but watermark will be lost and needs to be set again.
  • Fix to avoid potential crashes when moving a window to different displays while a slideshow is playing.
  • Audiomarkers now use correct timing in exported movies regarless of the transitions being used.
  • Kerning and leading now work again when editing titles.
  • On some slow machines exporting (sharing) a slideshow would sometimes hang. Should no longer happen.
  • Bugfixes for various issues with screensavers. Freezes and flashes in screensaver should now be gone. Audiomarker should work correctly. Please note that screensaver need to be created anew with this version to benefit from these fixes.
  • Wipe to blank slide now produced correct visual results again.
  • Avoid a potential crash after a slideshow finishes playing.
  • Avoid a potential crash when moving/resizing the window while playing a slideshow (preview mode).
  • Sharing a slideshow for web now produces significantly smaller movie files while retaining high quality.
  • Apple remote control now works again on Leopard.
  • Spotlight plugin should now work again.
  • Sometimes title of slideshows saved on Tiger and opened on Leopard would be shifted to the right and cut off. This bug is (hopefully) fixed in this version.
  • Black stage during window resize should no longer happen.
  • Audio timing is now more precise for exported QuickTime movies. A cumulative rounding error has been eliminated.
  • Estimated remaining time now better for all phases of exporting.
  • Feedback assistant no longer prompts users to submit ancient crash reports.
  • Various small and not so small fixes.

3.01 solves the main crashes on my Mac, makes me happy! Now, support for the NVIDIA seems to be Apples's problem: waiting for 10.5.7
So, I change my opnion based on this update: it works fine now it seems!

Boinx FotoMagico Commentary10.5 only - Version: 3.0, 5/11/2009 05:03AM PST

I believe the new version of Fotomagico (3.0) will only work with OS 10.5, not 10.4.
Your descriptors should be changed.

As version 3 crashes the moment I add something to the timeline, I got an older version 2 to test: works perfectly on my Mac, any configuration.
So: for some reason version 3 broke something that was fine in version 2...(!)
