What's new in this version:

Version 1.2.4 beta10

  • New: HD and H.264 Export
It is now possible to export to High Definition video and some other new presets based on H.264 with QuickTime 7 and/or Tiger.
  • Fix: Playback improvements
Better OpenGL texture handling should improve playback performance a lot.
  • New: Advanced Preferences
Especially on older hardware FotoMagico might stutter during playback as drawing and loading of images fight each other. Sometimes in can help to slightly decrease the default frame rate of 60 frames per second.
Use the new Advanced Preferences pane to set the Framerate to a value that works best on your hardware.
In addition, there is a popup for choosing the Timing Strategy. We experimented a lot and believe that we have found quite good settings for most hardware combinations with the setting named "Hare". If this settings doesn't work for you, please try the options "Tortoise" or "Old" and give us feedback. Go back to using version 1.2.3 if none of the settings bring any improvements.
  • Enh: Small visual changes.
  • Fix: Bug fixes.

Boinx FotoMagico Review3.01 fixes things! - Version: 3.0, 5/12/2009 09:45AM PST

3.01 solves the main crashes on my Mac, makes me happy! Now, support for the NVIDIA seems to be Apples's problem: waiting for 10.5.7
So, I change my opnion based on this update: it works fine now it seems!

Boinx FotoMagico Commentary10.5 only - Version: 3.0, 5/11/2009 05:03AM PST

I believe the new version of Fotomagico (3.0) will only work with OS 10.5, not 10.4.
Your descriptors should be changed.

Boinx FotoMagico CommentaryVersion 2 works perfectly! - Version: 3.0, 5/6/2009 01:17PM PST

As version 3 crashes the moment I add something to the timeline, I got an older version 2 to test: works perfectly on my Mac, any configuration.
So: for some reason version 3 broke something that was fine in version 2...(!)
