Product Description:

OS X lets you add folders to the Finder's sidebar, or the right side of the Dock. This excellent feature provides quick access to frequently used folders. This is great except ... all folders look the same.

FolderBrander lets you easily change the look of your folders - pick a different color and add a short text label.

Found some nice folder icons on the web? Add them to FolderBrander's custom icon set (just drop them in there), and setting folder icon becomes easier than ever.

What's new in this version:

Updated the purchasing engine to work on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
Added the Sparkle software update framework.

Love this ... makes it so simple to customize your folders. I have the software to create folder icons but this is much quicker on the fly.

MY ONLY WISH is that yellowmug would add a custom color wheel so we could create whatever color of folder we would like. (Also would be nice if you could drop a graphic on top) I purchased another app called Color Labels in which I thought I could create the custom color in it and then drag into FolderBrander to finish off with text. Problem ... it reverts back to original folder color ... so my idea didn't work as there is a incompatability issue there between the two apps.

All in all this is a great little app for $10.00 that is super easy to use and does what it says - Creative visual workers will love this!!!

I've used this software for several years and migrating to a new mac somehow lost a lock on it. I've missed it and re-downloaded it today. Found my original purchase info and I'm up and running. I work for several clients and have several different pocket hard drives I use. The visual clues are great wayfinding through the maze I have created. Mac people are visual to start with in my experience -- this is a natural next step. I've often wondered why Apple didn't just add it to their OS. I'm happy camper.

I downloaded a demo to try. The demo puts an x through whatever you do but, I never got that far. I looked at it's own crappy icon , OI looked at the confusing little interface , read that it was an fake demo then popped it into the trash like all the crappy nonfunctional demo's. 90% of these things are just crap. I mean they dont tell you anything and honestly , not worth the time .
