webXkiosk ReviewWorks, if you can tweak the plist - Version: 1.3, 9/28/2006 02:03AM PST

james.dore
A very good app spoiled by instability - Installation didn't seem to go to plan the first time, I had to change some permissions on the Application Support folder, and the Preferences file. After that, no matter what I tried, I couldn't edit the preferences with the Application itself, so had to alter the plist file by hand. Fortunately that's not difficult as it's all fairly obvious - but it's not perfect.

Other than that, does exactly what it says on the tin - and does it well. The price is right, too.

webXkiosk ReviewNot buggy for me - I've used it successfully for over a year. - Version: 1.3, 7/26/2006 01:46PM PST

For me, not buggy in the least. For over a year, I've used it with 10.3.x on Blue and White G3/350 and G4/400 towers for use as kiosk computers for new university students to get to an email registration page, and it works like a charm. I have not tested it with Tiger - and have no need to, at this point. The only time these machines are down is when I have to replace a PRAM battery.

webXkiosk ReviewBuggy - Version: 1.3, 6/27/2006 08:10AM PST

I downloaded and tried on my iMac before moving it to the stand-alone display I am going to be using as a kiosk. After I altered some of the files, password, array, I got it running, kind of, it crashed a few times in simple testing. I don't think it could be trusted to run while un attended. Nice simple interface and a few simple nice features but it crashes a lot.
