just bought it and from reading the forum at their site it still seems to have a few problems that have been around for a while. crashing when importing from tape and useing camcorder controls being one.
there is not enough onscreen contol of the camcorder. interface is somewhat vague in many areas. some things can be right clicked, some can not. takes some getting used to.
neat idea, but still needs some work.
should have fooled around with the demo some more before spending 70 bucks, but it was the demo is very limited.
I'm hoping they square it away. It look quites useful.
recommended with reservation.

What exactly is this software?

It catalogues films and lets you add notes. Wow.

There are loads of catalogue tools (notably iView) out there that will do this - even (unstable) iVideo can make a go of this.

It can compress but basically uses QTPro functionality for that. It's no Compression Master though so talk of "Pro" quality is misplaced.

It has a Mosaic; what's that then (I know what it looks like - I simply struggle to know why)?

Then is has all this people, places, etc thingy going on. so does Memory Miner and that has a more elegant solution.

So if you add up iView, Memory Miner and QTPro then iDive is cheaper but I still do not understand what it's really trying to do and more importantly, why?
