Product Description:

The LIVID Batch Export Utility is a simple program for recompressing and resizing a folder of quicktime media to a different format. Many live video applications perform best with a low-cpu intensive codec, such as PhotoJPG, but the variety of codecs your video library may vary wildly. Movies downloaded from the internet, shot with a DV camera, or captured with a video digitizer will all be encoded in different formats: the Batch Export Utility lets you unify your library in four easy steps. It can also be used to compress movies for internet delivery and streaming, enhancing clips by adjusting the brightness and contrast, upsampling and resizing clips for use in a video editing program, or exporting the first frame as a still image thumbnail.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0

Additional Requirements:

  • MAC OS X

Livid BEU ReviewThis Rocks! - Version: 1.2, 8/21/2005 02:40PM PST

After reading the previous reviewer I was a little bit leery, add to that that the VT link is bad, but going to the developer site http://lividinstruments.com/software_batch.php allowed easy download.

I've been looking for a program to convert files so that I can watch them on on my SanDisk Flash Trax. Every export I've tried looses the audio, but not Livid BEU! Yes, finally I can put my video on it and watch it on the plane!

And to top it all off, it's FREE! Thank you!!!

Livid BEU ReviewDisappointing - Version: 1.2, 3/23/2005 12:09PM PST

I have been looking for an application like this for a long time, all the more I'm disappointed: After choosing an export format, a completely different settings window is opened (e.g. "DivX AVI" brings up the settings window for DV).
Some files are saved with the wrong file name extension (e.g. .mov instead of .mpg). And worst: Virex claims the exported files to contain a virus (Exploit-LoadImgAPI) and deletes them!
Nice idea...

However, feature-wise, it is unfare to compare this little one with Cleaner, or Compressor. This application designed I guess, not as an alternative, but like an free solution in simple cases for people who even don't have a "pro" version of QT. And as such - it's good. To "unify your library", as ReadMe comments,- what for? "Upsampling"- to what extend?... ReadMe comments file -s weakest part of this, mostly because it diesn't clarify that this Batch Export Utility basicaly consist of employing QT conversion interface in batches. It adds minimalist's interface.
All process even slower than if it was done using QT Pro 'Save As" mechanism.
Flexability and fine tqeaking lovers - use Cleaner and Compressor.
But - again- this app worth every penny you spent on it!
