Elgaot support is very lame: We are waiting for more than 4 month on the update so we can watch out photos again after the iPhoto update to version 6.
Shame on you, Elgato, to let your customers wait and wait and wait.
Can't recommend this software anymore. Is there any other software one could use in order to get its media on a TV with a eyeHome Set-Top-Box?

Under 10.4.3, fast network, mac mini 1.5, video lags the audio until it's unbearable to watch. Tried it with all formats, MP4, avi, etc.
Very poor quality control to put out a product this shabby, rebate or no.
Nice idea, maybe someone else with a higher sense of QA will get it right.

does anyone else notice playback stuttering when the picture gets grainy??? this is really strange, since the grainy picture normally has less bitrate than the non grainy picture??? very strange...
apart from that no real downside w/ playback, besides the request i made in the earlier post about the playback of hr.hdtv rips... or a new eyehomeHD box;-) i'd buy it right away;-)
oh, one more thing: please rediesign the user interface... i'd should be much more apple like and more simple to use;-)

please elgato team,
give us more codecs (h.264 for example) and the feature of downscaling the hr.hdtv rips to ntsc or pal resolution....
i'd love to be able to watch the 960x540 hdtv rips, they're so much clearer than the regular 620x255 hdtv to divx rips.... i think the hardware is capable of doing it, when shutteling thru the hr.hdtv footage, eyehome works fine, only when playing those files the eyehome box fails....

Hopefully with the needed fix there will be a correction on the time tag for the EyeHome internal clock which is off by a day by design. If the software worked flawlessly, this would be fully worth the full price I paid when it was first available. At this time, it is not worth the cost. Hope the fix comes soon.

I just upgraded to 10.4.3 and the EyeHome app is crashing out when ever I try to start it. Finally El Gato will be forced to upgrade this product, it has been way too long between upgrades imho.

I'm having plenty of problems with my EyeHome (latest firmware) and OS X 10.4.2 on my Power Mac G5, some times the EyeHome wont connect to the G5 at all, other times it will but wont mention new shows I've recorded on my EyeTV, or it'll just sit there and time out between screens dumping me back to the white NO SUCH IP screen.
The EyeHome is a great idea, but I really think El Gato need to take some time to release some new firmware.

i wish elgato would bring out a box that has component and/or hdmi/dvi out for europe(and the US) so we can watch our beloved HDTV rips in HD quality and don't have to compromise on quality...
overall i can recomend this box for people that wanna watch movies and TV from their hardrives, i don't need the music and photo feature @ all, only video...
