Product Description:

The lite version of the one and only award winning easy to use multiple clipboard editing and display utility. This version gives you hundreds of clipboards at your fingertips in the most convenient way. Access the clipboard via keyboard, menubar, contextual menus or floating palette.
These are the benefits of CopyPaste-Lite: Simplicity Affordable No Dock icon Small download Upgrade path to CopyPaste-X 2.0
While the lite version is good for beginners and a few other people, we highly recommend that you give the more sophisticated CopyPaste-X 2.0 a try. See a list of features in CopyPaste-X 2.0. Both are essential timesavers for beginners and advanced users. Unique features on every platform.

What's new in this version:

  • There is a memory leak in Operating System routines when drawing buttons with pictures. That caused CopyPaste to consume quite a lot of memory during a few days. I changed the buttons to use icon buttons instead of picture buttons which fixed the problem.
  • There was a problem when switching a Clip Set in Entourage, which caused Entourage to ignore following pastings. Although this is a bug in Entourage, I found a work around.
  • Many minor bugs are fixed so this version is highly recommended for all users.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X

CopyPaste Lite CommentaryBad Idea - Version: 1.0.3, 9/15/2004 04:27AM PST

I've used Copy Paste for many years, in OS 7, 8, 9 and X. The version I use now is 1.6.1, which was the last update before version 2 came out. Even before version 2 it had many more features than I need. In order to continue development the author has turned it into a hydra headed text editor, including spell checking. Now he is offering a "lite" version which is something of a downgrade from the last version 1. Perhaps the contextual menu capability would be nice - a viable trade-off for the Dock icon - but, as much as I like Copy Paste, I can't see paying for it again. It may be OK for new users, standing up against the other clipboard utilities, but it doesn't seem compelling to me. If there was a decent upgrade (downgrade ?) price, maybe, but not as it is.

After over 10 years of using CopyPaste I looked at the competition:
ShadowClipboard is much better designed, easy and straightforward to use and costs half the prize of CP lite.

This is just the multiple clipboards, right? No tools, no editor, and it costs 15 bucks? Funny thing, pricing. Ten bucks would have seemed just right, priced to fly off the racks, but somehow, 15 seems a little steep.

I don't think I'd be tempted to pay 15 for this utility, even if I didn't already own a copy of its big brother.

'Twould be nice, as others have said, to see some reviews here from people who actually use this thing.
