Bluetooth to Internet Utility Commentarymesses up firewall - Version: 2.2, 6/23/2004 09:17AM PST

Strider72
This messes up my firewall somehow -- I need to reboot to get it running again. Esssentially my firewall gets turned off and won't turn on again because "another firewall" is already running. ????? What the heck does this have to do with firewalls?

It also doesn't work -- Step 2 returns an error. Perhaps the two are related. Keep up the good work, though; this is off to a good start. :)

What do you share from when you get the "unable to bind divert socket" error? I have not been able to reproduce the "NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError'. What do you select to get this error?

Get an NS execution error 4:1. I at first thought it was a problem because I was not in as Admin. So I used User Switching to get in as Admin and got the same error.

I am currently attempting to support Firewire, Airport and other network interfaces being shared over Bluetooth. The app should be able to support any unusual Internet connection type. I will post an update ASAP.

Bluetooth to Internet Utility Developer NoteStep-by-step typos - Version: 2.1, 6/14/2004 10:00AM PST

Has anyone found any problems with the step-by step setup process? If so, please post a note here. I would automate the creation of a Bluetooth port, but the Bluetooth Serial Utility doesn't support scripting.

Bluetooth to Internet Utility CommentaryMore work needed - Version: 2.1, 6/14/2004 02:27AM PST

whytoi
Lovely idea, especially with Mac-Palm internet sharing. However, the walk through step by step script in the main app seemed to faulter when it comes to configuration of the various net services in Preferences. It was almost impossible to trouble shoot on the user's end. The author probably should make more comments on the basic network setup required for his scripts to work. Definitely need more work but very promising.
