iDrum ReviewAbsolute rubbish! - Version: 1.72, 10/20/2009 12:31AM PST

This developer implements policies which are unacceptable. You download and install the demo only to be informed o launch that it expired and you cannot use it. This is unprofessional and insulting to the extreme. Stay away from this company. It will save you dollars and a lot of stress. And some people still wonder why there's so much pirated software our there... Bad, but I guess many do it because they are driven mad by companies such as iZotope, pile of...

iDrum CommentaryPrice is going up but features are still the same - Version: 1.0.2, 11/17/2004 01:59PM PST

iDrum looked like an alright deal at $49, but now it's gone up $20, yet the feature set is still the same. It's not bad, but it's definitely an entry-level drum machine. It doesn't support multilayer sampling, it doesn't have any way to apply effects to individual sounds (there should be multiple outputs; effect sends would be nice too). I can't think of a single drum pattern I've programmed where I haven't put some reverb on the snares...this would be impossible with iDrum.

The Redrum in Reason not only has effect sends but you get individual outputs per drum sound as well, so you can route them to a mixer and use insert effects as well.

I think if the price is going to get jacked up, the feature set needs to improve. I'll stick with Redrum and Ultrabeat, which are both way better than iDrum. If I do get another drum machine, it'll be Battery, which blows iDrum out of the water.

iDrum ReviewAs a music newbie..... - Version: 1.0, 8/7/2004 06:38AM PST

I loved the iTrial because iDrummed (SORRY! couldn't resist). Seriously though it is really user friendly, polished and intuitive and I got a real buzz from using it.
However! despite my good rating for each individual aspect of the program I won't be buying it because I can't download it. The idea of having to wait for a CD is frankly ludicrous and If I were to buy the disk it would probabaly take 2 months (if it ever got here at all!) it takes 6 weeks for letters to get to Jordan from Europe, USA...... who knows? The "magical 'instant-gratification'" mentioned in the website is not a reality. Frustratingly a great product that is usless! (sorry guy's I know you include zillions of samples and it is the postal service that is the problem, but still.............).
