Product Description:

Address-O-Matic is the first tool that lets you share your Address Book within a local network, automatically and transparently. No need to change application: you decide which groups to publish and which services to subscribe to, and in your Address Book you will find your addresses, along with the new ones. You can also edit them, and in this case you will retain them, otherwise the addresses will disappear as soon as you remove the subcription.

What's new in this version:

Address-O-Matic has been completely rewritten. It has a new interface, better performance and reliability, and through the Activity Window you can see what's going on behind the scene.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

Address-O-Matic ReviewOutstanding tech service - Version: 1.0 Build 31, 9/6/2006 10:15AM PST

I had some difficulty understanding how to set Address-O-Matic up, partly caused by some network problems unrelated to Address-O-Matic. Marco was extraordinarily responsive and helpful in solving my problems.

I now have Address-O-Matic working perfectly.

Address-O-Matic Troubleshooting ReportIntel Based Macs and 10.4? - Version: 1.0 (Build 29), 4/7/2006 03:07AM PST

makk1000_dotmac
Although this product works perfectly when the host Mac is a Power PC (Dual 2.7) running 10.3.9 server (all clients can see and import the contacts whether PPC or Intel) cannot get it to work when it is hosted on a Power PC (Dual Core 2.0) running 10.4.6 server or on a intel based machine (iMac 1.83 Duo) (clients see shared address book puts the group in client machince but it does not import contacts)
Has any one got it to work when hosted on an intel? Or had probelms hosting of a G5 dual core?

Address-O-Matic Commentaryslightly sketchy docs - Version: 1.0 (Build 27), 8/19/2005 06:36PM PST

i downloaded, installed, ran, and punched a hole in my firewall for this app. the shared address book didn't show up in any other address book on any other mac on my subnet. does the app have to be installed on both comps? docs didn't mention this...

does anyone know of an app or plugin that will allow the client address books to see AND edit the data on a central server????? that's what we really need...
