I make my own port:
Used MacPorts 1.7.1 and create app:
http://rapidshare.com/files/233731733/MkvToolNix_2.8.0.dmg
Tested on Mac mini (Intel, 1,66 Ghz), clean (just installed) Mac OS X 10.5.6
Folder "opt" not needed any more, app is fully transportable

MKVToolNix Troubleshooting ReportTo make this work ... - Version: 2.7, 4/27/2009 09:54AM PST

I got it working by:

a) installing latest version of VLC (0.9.9a) into Applications
b) become root ...
1) mkdir /opt; mkdir /opt/local; mkdir opt/local/lib
2) cd /opt/local/lib
3) cp /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/*.dylib .

This adds all the 'missing' libraries for MKVToolNix (libwx_macu-2.9.0.dylib) to find ...

I'm GUESSING here ... but I think the author ASSuMEs that we all have Mac Ports installed!

MKVToolNix Commentarydoes not work, sigh, - Version: 2.7, 4/18/2009 03:25PM PST

This application has failed work again. It crashes and the console reports that a required library is missing. It comes with no instructions explaining what extra libraries are required.

The developer has again not tested this application prior to releasing it. Therefore I would not trust this software.
