Highly Recommended with New Nokia 3120 Classic

- Version: 1.2.9, 2/11/2009 04:04AM PST

From the same author, I have been using for years the excellent Phone manager with my Nokia 6310i at the sametime I was also using the excellent Phone Director for my Sister's Nokia.
This week my sister got a new Nokia
Model 3120 Classic Graphite Type RM-365 FCC ID QTKRM-365 IC 661AD-RM365
Firmware V09.41 Date 06-11-08 RM-365
I contacted the Author and asked if he could get his application to work with the new Phone after a few hours I received a reply and after 48 hrs and a few Downloads, this is now reality and all is working 100% with this excellent and very Cheap Nokia 3120c considering it has all the option needed for business and an excellent Battery life.
I Highly Recommend this Phone and Phone Director to make the best Phone management solution for business
PS: I have only been supplied a trial version based on the existing 1.2.9 so I guess the Author will update the application very soon to match all this
Just short of being excellent!

This program is just short of being excellent!
It was just what I was looking for... and then some!!
6300 Nokia Model RM-217, Firmware: V 05.50
Delivers what it promises.
Phone and SIM back up of numbers works well.
SMS transfer - A GEM !!
To be able to back up/archive SMS messages from the phone to the computer is a handy feature - laid out in its own database and PhoneDirectory provides it's own
Radio - updated channels. Worked.
Gallery - pix/video/etc., transefers, works. Processing files to your phones format works well... processing speed is somewhere between good and fast.
Importing should be part of the GUI instead of a menu - but this is more my pref and most people don't mind selecting from the File menu each time.
Log - can save list - but doesn't list each tracked call in a saved file. Viewable in the program. Would be nice if this was improved - and a very handy feature.
To Do - list - needs to be imported. Works well within the program if using the dialog box to create a TO-ITEM. However for iCal - you have to import the file from the FILE menu. It would be better if this was part of the TO-DO GUI as a button, for example.
Cosmetic problem: In the To-Do Alarms - the AM/PM listing is not visible - you can still choose the AM or PM - it's just not "visible" - so this is more of a cosmetic issue. (Have contacted Developer with screenshots).
Calendar Events/Dates on the phone can be easily transferred to iCal as individual items (if so desired) - by simply dragging from PD into iCal. Transfers with alarms (check w/notes).
Calendar - syncs - but it's a bit of work each time. To transfer MEETING, CALL, BIRTHDAY, MEMO and REMINDER - you have to import each one separately. The program won't allow a batch import. I ASSUME that the NOKIA transfer protocol doesn't allow the multiple transfer... however... if I am wrong... then this part of the transfer needs to be improved.
When importing calendar - the setting needs to be from the "day before" - that is the setting needs to be set to the day before the day you want the calendar to start in your phone.
Themes building is cool. It's not part of the demo - so can't say it works fully... "The building of themes" panels seem easy enough to create themes.
Recording Audio sound message using inline microphone - remember to stop speaking a second before hitting the stop recording button... otherwise the end of your message will be truncated.
If you have a NOKIA phone - and "IF" this software supports it - you'll be happy with what this software can provide.
The demo allows for testing most of it each features - so give it go...

FINALLY- Calendar for my 6265i

Yes, there are newer phones with other software benefits, but I like my Nokia 6265i - not to mention the bucketload of acce$$ories I already have. I switched to mac in January 2008, and have been searching for a way to sync my calendar. Most everything else is just for fun (I don't use email & data on the phone), and I consider it a bonus - I can also "revert" to my PC if it's urgent. But, syncing my DAILY calendar for appointments, meetings with clients - that's what makes the money and this is a savior, since both Apple & Nokia seem uninterested in expanding their horizons. I may post more later, but, if you need calendar syncing to ensure your daily life, get this program. Start with the "read me" files first & get sync'd!

The software has worked adequately with my Nokia 6822 , however switching computers disables it and there is no way to unauthorize an install. Agressive copy protection, and limited functionality outweigh the price.

If you've a phone that works with this application, then enjoy, it -looks- really good, nice GUI, interesting feature list, but if you have something ever so slightly not on the list then youre damned! My Nokia 6630 is one of these and the famous bluetooth driver & Nokia OBEX compatability problem rears its ugly head again. Its gutting. Maybe some tech-head can tell me why two phones from the same range work differently - its enough to make you scream!!!
I do hope the Nokia N95 is a suitable and compatible phone - im about to buy one and i'll never buy another nokia again if it isn't!

Very limited support of mobiles, very complicated interface. Not worth buying at all.

Since Nokia have abjectly failed to produce any useful software for managing a Nokia 6300 for the Mac, I decided to stick my thumb up at them and pay for phonedirector as it has good reviews overall, and the unregistered version worked fine. Albeit the design is a little quirky.
It would be nice if it supported a USB cable, rather than only the battery-sapping and less secure Bluetooth method. SMS transfer is slow, perhaps because of said Bluetooth support. It would be nice if I could truly browse the device as a file system.
But the ability to back up SMSes and manage my address book is very useful.
