BEST SCREENSAVER EVER

I'm the Mac IT guy for a large advertising agency. I've been using Ciao at home for over two years, and am just now starting to implement it at work as well. I often have users forget to log out of the lounge when they're done. Normally we use a locking screensaver, but that means nobody else can log into that computer without an admin password. If I do a forced logout, users could lose unsaved documents. Ciao, along with the fast-user switch to the login window, allows me to keep the computers secure, while at the same time not losing anybody's work. I've used it under OS 10.3 and 10.4 and it's very stable. It's easy to use, and quite honestly I can't imagine why Apple hasn't already incorporated it into the OS. Huge thanks to Lorenb for providing such great software. The fact that it's Freeware is the icing on the cake.
Ok

This does what it says, and deserves a review. When your screensaver starts up automatically (as set in System Preferences), if you have selected Ciao to be your screensaver, then a gray fog drops over your screen and a large white countdown timer begins in the bottom left corner. This counts down a minimum of 30 seconds, but can be set for several minutes, 15 or mroe. When the countdown expires, you get logged out in one of three ways: Nicely, abruptly or temporarily via fast user switching. That's it. Yes, the Security System Pref allows you to set an idle time before automatically logging out the current user, but Ciao gives you a little more control. Technically, I suppose this is a 5 star utility, since everything works, but it's a tiny little utility -- should it get 5 stars, same as PHP or MySQL? And it doesn't add that much more to what's already embedded in the OS, but is that Apple's fault for monolithic thinking inappropriately applied to Unix small tools working together? 4.3 stars, rounded down, but only if you have a use for it.
When selecting the ciao screensaver in the pref panes, a message is displayed saying this version can't work on my system. :(
