FoldingObserver ReviewFun & Useful! - Version: 1.6, 12/7/2007 08:35PM PST

I've been using FoldingObserver for years, and use it to monitor folding running on my house full of Macs. The latest version works great! It's easy to add clients, and to see the status on all clients in a network. The "View Options" allows seeing as much of the status as possible, and each option can be sorted on. I like sorting on "Progress" or on "Time Remaining". Since you can view the team and user id, it's easy to make sure that each client is configured correctly.

There is one bug - if a client is past due, it grays out the client plus does not compute/show time remaining or CPU utilization. However, the small bug is that the folding data doesn't include the year the unit is due by, so when it's due next year, FoldingObserver thinks it's past due. I'm sure this will be fixed soon (though it's really the folding client's fault!).

This program crashes for me when manually adding clients to "observe". Mac OS X 10.3.5, Powerbook 15", 512 RAM. Otherwise it looks pretty sweet. :)
