Concept is sound and it does do what is advertised. After it is set up as the default application to launch when a digital camera is attached, it does exactly that and provides a customizable list of apps of your choosing to use to download your photos. It can also download directly to your "Pictures" folder.
Limitations as I see it:
1. direct downloads go to root of "Pictures" folder ONLY. No way to chage that.
2. "feels" like Real Basic. Window opens with rough fade in (even on a Radeon AGP, Quartz saavy video card). Lose that, it just slows down the app.
3. At application quit, you are presented with an Ad screen of other offerings from this developer. No way to turn it off.
