iTunes XHTML Playlist CommentaryWhere's it gone ?! - Version: 4.2.3, 8/8/2006 01:32AM PST

I could really do with something like this right now, but all links lead to a page displaying a 'Play it again' message - and nothing else....

iTunes XHTML Playlist ReviewThis is so cool. - Version: 4.2.3, 4/15/2005 10:42AM PST

This is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I used a playlist that had over 800 songs, and it made a wonderful webpage of the list, complete with links to the iTMS when a song is clicked on.

The only thing that would make it better is a way to get commission from the sale of songs that were found using my page. Other than that, I love this app.

iTunes XHTML Playlist CommentaryIt worked great - Version: 4.2.3, 4/15/2005 07:25AM PST

fthornburg
OS X 10.2.8
iTunes 4.7.1
G4 1GHz Dual-Processor

I tried on one of my smaller playlists (126 songs).
.txt file was created within 2 seconds from iTunes.
iTunes XHTML Playlist then created a nice xhtml document (viewed with Safari).

I think the trick is to beware if using the entire iTunes Library, if the library is huge.

My Library is 1600 songs and it took iTunes 30 seconds to create a .txt file of the entire library. iTunes XHTML Playlist took 53 seconds to create the html document from the .txt file.

So i just downloaded this and gave it a shot.... and it did not make a useful html file for me... but then again i have over 47,000 songs and tried just making a page with all of them on it.... the resulted Html file was nearly 39 Mbs! Needless to say, not one browser could handle it.... Any help with that? I would love to create such a page...

ThanX!

iTunes XHTML Playlist ReviewPerfect App... - Version: 4.2, 2/16/2005 11:10AM PST

Does exactly what it says it does, and seems to do it well. My suggestions for improvement: 1) Ability to use your own CSS stylesheets (would require a published spec) 2) a more unique name for the images folder - if I put these pages on a site with an images folder that already exists, I don't want to have to worry about possible over-writing of my site images

Great Work!

iTunes XHTML Playlist ReviewNice... - Version: 4.2, 2/16/2005 08:47AM PST

Works fine except genre doesn't show (column there just blank). I would personally like to see a "number of tracks per page" option, any chance? But overall a great little utility.

iTunes XHTML Playlist Usage TipDon't forget... - Version: 4.1.2, 10/6/2004 12:31AM PST

To those that have had problems, don't forget to Export Song List... to a plain text file from iTunes. Then use that text file when you Choose File from iTunes XHTML Playlist. Works great then. I was having the same problem before I remembered that you don't use the iTunes XML file.

iTunes XHTML Playlist CommentaryNice Application - Version: 4.1.2, 8/27/2004 08:42AM PST

Thanks for developing this. Its a nice tool and seems to work well. I converted my library (1000+) songs in 12 seconds and a playlist in no time... Using iTunes 4.6, and the latest system software, did not seem to have any troubles. 1 feature request would be to add a line limit to repeat the header information - so that page printouts could be have header information at the top of each page. A better way to say that would be - specify the number of songs per page, and then generate a page break with new header info in the xml.

Thanks again for making a simple, useful application available...

iTunes XHTML Playlist Troubleshooting ReportCan't Get it to Work - Version: 4.1.2, 7/8/2004 01:14AM PST

sonosenzasenso

I can't get this to work at all... I'm on OS 10.3.4 Build 7H63 and using iTunes 4.6 (15). It'll startup fine but once I click Choose File and do so, and specify that my iTunes is 4.2+, it just sits there on 0% and is "Not Responding..." Any suggestions?
