For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, don't feel bad... it took me a while to find the Keyboard viewer as well.
Select the little flag on the menu bar and then "Keyboard Viewer". Yes that's it. That's all this application does for you.
If the Flag or Keyboard doesn't show up then go to System Preferences... International... and select the Keyboard Viewer option.

Hi,
I've been looking for such a software, but unfortunately, this one doesn't work with non-US keyboards. When you launch it, it looks ok and show the right keys. But as soon as you hit one of the modifiers (Apple, Shift, CTRL, etc), the display reverts to american QWERTY. So it's not exactly useful. Unfortunately...
